Will Bradley (1868–1962) was a pioneering American artist who recognized the vast potential of creative design in the business sector. He experimented with typefaces, layouts, illustrations, and print to create striking posters, advertisements, book designs, and magazine covers that were both functional and artistic. A leading figure in the American Arts and Crafts Movement at the turn of the century, his iconic 1890s posters brought Art Nouveau to the forefront of American graphic design. An innovator, Bradley published his own renowned Chap Book in limited editions on high-quality paper while also crafting remarkable images for major advertisers, demonstrating that commercial illustration could be bold, brilliant, and memorable. This volume showcases his exceptional work as an artist, illustrator, type designer, and printer, highlighting his evolution from asymmetrical designs to elegant Art Nouveau adaptations, thus illustrating the diverse and dynamic nature of his artistry. Condition: Very Fine Minus. Lightly tipped corners.
