Collects #5-8, 1953, and The Man From Planet X, 1952. Here's a rich gathering from above-average publisher Fawcett, plus a far-out bonus movie adaptation, The Man From Planet X. Beware is a great anthology comic featuring horror hosted by "The Mummy," with contributors Bernard Baily, Sheldon Moldoff, Maurice Gutwirth, Bob McCarty, Harry Harrison, Bob Powell, and Kurt Schaffenberger. Includes a classic skeleton cover, people being cooked (!), cool Toth-ish art and much more. The Man from Planet X is a one-shot in the Fawcett Movie Comic series. It's a book-length story adapted from the movie, an early United Artists sci-fi epic. But the cool thing is Kurt Schaffenberger provides all the artwork...it may be more entertaining than the movie itself! He does a great job on it. Includes stills from the movie on the front, back and inside covers. Fawcett's horror ranged from the really disturbing on up, but it was generally better written and better drawn than most of the other non-EC horror titles. With superior artists like Powell, McCarty, Baily, and the skilled Kurt Schaffenberger, who went on to do wonderful Lois Lane and Superman stories, these are fun stories to read and enjoy.
