For over three decades, George Barr captured the joy of Christmas in a series of black-and-white greeting cards for his friends Dick and Bette Wald. To him, the cards became “a highlight of the holiday season,” giving him a much-cherished opportunity to create playful fantasies for his favorite time of year, sent out exclusively to the folks on the Walds' Christmas list! Joy to the World gathers the art of these 37 B&W cards into one collection—along with a half-dozen color cards—in Barr's classic ballpoint and watercolor style for the commercial Sunrise Card company, as well as a number of his charming personal seasonal pieces.
