EERIE Facsimile Edition #2 Slipcased
Collects #6-11, 1952-53.
Six facsimile editions of classic Avon issues in one premium slipcase, not available individually! Packed with bone-chilling tales of the supernatural and horror. With iconic artists like Wally Wood, Joe Orlando, Joe Kubert, and Everett Raymond Kinstler, who provides a bondage cover and a Phantom Witch Doctor story in #8 and more in #10. Sid Check joins the talent in #8, and Gerald McCann in #11, whose art is "Kinstler-ish" per Overstreet. 200 pages of eerie terror -- this collection delivers unbeatable bang for your buck! Avon's Eerie ran for an impressive 17 issues, throughout the pre-code horror period. Wally Wood and Joe Orlando did the cover on #7, their last, and Kubert does stories in #7 and #9, his last in the run. Headlights and good girl art continue by others. PS tried out this new slipcased facsimile format with This Magazine is Haunted. This offers the facsimile issues, which if available individually would cost $15.99 each, in a handsome slipcase for about the same prices as the individual issues would add up. So far they have not offered these issues individually, but time will tell.
